So sad that the landowner didn't renew their lease. They had great Taiwanese breakfast options on the weekend. I hope they are able to find another place to reopen.

Was looking for sizzling rice soup for my sick partner and found an absolute gem of a place. Although we ordered takeout the food was ready and packaged in less than 15 minutes and came in massive portions for under $16 a piece. Everything was delicious and authentic, will absolutely be back for lots more.

As a 626 transplant to the South Bay, I have been desperately trying to find food spots to replace the foods I can't easily access anymore back in the amazing 626. Fan tuan, or rice roll/tube, is one of those more difficult things to find in the South Bay. For those of you who don't know, fan tuan is a roll of sticky rice usually filled with a fried Chinese donut, pork floss, and pickled or preserved radishes. Like a burrito but instead of a tortilla, it's rice. The preserved radishes and pork floss give a nice sweetness to the roll, while the fried donut gives it the savory flavor. I was so excited when I found Peter's Place selling these nostalgic breakfast foods in the South Bay. They only sell them on Saturday until about noon or until they run out, is what the grandma told me the last time I visited. But you can call to reserve some. I asked for 3 rice rolls and a box of tea eggs, my total coming out to about $27. The rice rolls were about $7 each. They opened at 9AM on Saturday, and I got there around 9:30AM. I had to take a bite of the rice roll as soon as I got into the car. The donut was still crisp, the layer of rice was the perfect thickness, and the pork floss and radish was perfectly sweet and savory. All I was missing with soy milk to wash it down. Thank you to Peter's Place for giving me this little slice of home. I hope they continue to flourish with business.

I haven't been back to Peter's Place since the worst of the pandemic, but now, they're open for indoor dining! I got a late lunch here on a weekday, and I ordered the beef and tendon noodle soup. Now, I've had this dish before, and at times it can be a hit or a miss, but this time, it was an ABSOLUTE hit! Tender beef that wasn't dry and beautifully soft tendon that just melted in my mouth. Noodles were perfect: not too thick nor thin, with the right amount of chew. What I especially appreciated was the owner's wife came and talked to us-- I guess it was a slow day, as she talked our ear off! Super-nice family, as we've known them for years. Honestly, we need to go back more often for more of the good Taiwanese food! Don't sleep on Peter's Place!

I was looking for a savory breakfast and ordered the Fan Tuan (Salty Rice Roll), Youtiao (Fried Cruller), and a Cold Soy Milk. It hit the spot! If you've never had it before I recommend giving it a try, it's a heavy order for breakfast but it's filling & delicious! The salty soft pork-floss, crunchy fried cruller and pickled veggie all wrapped inside sticky rice... yum! Then when wash it down with the subtly sweet cold soy milk. It was my first time visiting this spot and I ordered my breakfast to go around opening time on a weekend. Service was quick and food was freshly made. I'm looking forward to trying more items and dining in.

Truly feels like you're eating in someone's home or my grandma is cooking for you all my Taiwanese faves: fan tuan, beef noodle soup, warm soy milk with you tiao, dumplings, chive pancake! That said, they're not service oriented here. We waited a long time to order as no one checked on us and they kept answering the phone and dealing with takeout orders like they forgot about us. Once they did take care of us, however, we got our food pretty quickly. The food was authentic and good. They forgot an item so I asked them to take it off the bill, and the woman was appropriately apologetic and kind. The funny thing is that the woman said that it was too much food for us to eat anyway and asked if we were already full. That is how you know when it's an authentic Chinese/Taiwanese place, when they do the opposite of upsell.
